Exploring the Mind Body Interface
Come and explore how your mind and body are interconnected via a Dance/Movement Therapy Demonstration and workshop
Dance/Movement Therapy is the psychotherapeutic use of movement to promote emotional, social, cognitive and physical integration of the individual. Dance/Movement Therapy focused on movement behavior as it emerges in the therapeutic relationship. Expressive, communicative, and adaptive behaviors are all considered for group and individual treatment. Body movement, as the core component of dance, simultaneously provides the means of assessment and the mode of intervention for dance/movement therapy.
The workshop will entail a series of movement exercises designed to enable you to discover your mind/ body connection. We will engage with music, each other and ourselves. Please wear comfortable clothes. No movement experience required.
